A house of joy

For the inauguration on 8th November 1896 a play called "A midsummer night in Dalarna" was rehearsed with strong involvement of Karin von Julin. After the play people danced until 10 p.m.

The theatre interest continued until the 1940’s with the strength of the local inhabitants and touring theatre groups. Plays like “Three for one", “Don Juan”, “One cigar" and “Rooms for rent" were shown in the Assembly Hall. The hall was also a place for singing, dancing, playing, gymnastics and courses with enlighting presentations. The grand piano which was donated by Karin von Julin was both necessary and highly appreciated.

New traditions emerged, for example the fire departments dance on Boxing day, Fiskars Singing brothers new years party, I.A. von Julin’s Epiphany party for the fire department, Fiskars Sports Association’s award ceremony and dance in relation to the Ski games, the Tennis club’s Walpurgis dinner and the Mothers Day party. There are countless couples that have met and later celebrated their wedding in the Assebly Hall.

The Assembly hall is an impressive buildning in the revival style from 1896.
